Goal
Create a new website that is easy to update.
Context
The Monona Farmers’ Market is a non-profit group run mainly by volunteers. They wanted a website could easily be updated and maintained by non-tech savvy committee members. The current site was not using a content management system and was only updated sporadically. It did not view well on mobile devices.
Solution
To make updates and management easy the site was built on WordPress. The site is responsive on multiple devices.
Some new features to the site included:
- Easy to update event widget that automatically removes events as they occur to reduce manual updates.
- WordPress’s powerful blog feature to post weekly updates and news items chronologically.
- Facebook integration to encourage communication with the community
- New, bright photography from the Market to show all the beautiful products sold
